The struggle of Bobby Sands and the other IRA hunger strikers are important lessons for us all. The state will try to criminalize our movements for liberation and our actions in defense of our principles but we must never allow it to equate revolutionary activities with those of economic or anti-social crimes. This booklet is a modest contribution to understanding the recent revolts in France. Needless to say, it is not sociological or, in a nobler sense, theoretical insight. revolts can only be understood by those who have the same needs as the rebels, that is to say by those who feel they are part of the revolt. After a brief chronology, in fact, the pages that follow pose the question of how the events of November in France concern all of us, and also try to give a possible answer. Akira, the fictitious name behind Eurasia. didn`t make us wait longer than one season (autumn-winter) to listening to the melodies and the ambience of a rural Japan. Glooming in the Twilight maintains the delicacy of its predecessor and adds some charge more sentimental and melancholy. Sadness, yes. In this Glooming in the Twilight the field-recordings are less (or nothing) noticeable and the piano grabs all the attention from beginning to end. Joy, too. "The end of the winter" brings... This has undoubtedly been the greatest revolutionary upheaval in Western Europe since the days of the Paris Commune. Hundreds of thousands of students have fought pitched battles with the police. Nine million workers have been on strike. The red flag of revolt has flown over occupied factories, universities, building sites, shipyards, primary and secondary schools, pit heads, railway stations, department stores, docked transatlantic liners, theatres, hotels. the Paris Opera, the Folies Bergeres... Being an epitome of holyoake's "History of Co-Operation" Those who have done me the honor to make writings of mine on co-operation the basis of this epitome of the subject, ask me to make a brief Introduction to it, which shall bring the information in my History of the movement in England down to the present time. The authors this work, (of which I write without having seen it.) have doubtless made a summary or selection of such portions or passages as have relevance to American... In a way, it is clearly artificial to try to isolate the role of women in any series of historical events. There are reasons, however, why the attempt should still be made from time to time; for one thing, it cannot be assumed that when historians write about "people" or "workers" they mean women to anything like the same extent as men. It is only recently that the history of women has begun to be studied with the attention appropriate to women's significance-constituting as... Topics: Women's Studies, Eurasia, World History
The Hungarian Revolution of October 1956, wrote its message in the blood of thousands of ordinary working people, particularly the youth. The message is that, today, the class struggle throughout the world is not one between East and West or between empires and trade union leaders. It is the struggle of the working class for its own emancipation. It is the struggle of the working class against all the bureaucratic regimes, institutions and ideologies, which, in both East and West, obstruct its... Topics: Eurasia, World History, Labor/Class
Eurasia. is the project of a 20 years-old Japanese boy who his inspired by the bucolic countryside in the city of Wakayama. The 4 songs that make the debut of Eurasia. in MiMi grow in-between the ambiences and the keys of a piano with classical melodies. Akira, fictitious name behind Eurasia., is an anti-hero. Assume the lack of theory and technique in his compositions, but, in the end, he makes the music that he wants to hear. "The end of the autumn" is the song closest to what is... None of this is very dramatic. The logic of outright withdrawal is doubtless more compelling, and it is certainly more carthartic for the person who avows it. But I must remind the reader of my purpose. It was to outline the course of action that would work-that would meet the requirements of the largest number of people concerned, including the largest possible number of Americans, and would not depend on a favorable reaction by the opposition. The bullet that pierced Alexis's heart was not a random bullet shot from a cop's gun to the body of an 'indocile' kid. It was the choice of the state to violently impose submission and order to the millieus and movements that resist its decisions. A choice that meant to threaten everybody who wants to resist the new arrangements made by the bosses in work, social security, public health, education, etc. Topics: World History, War & Militarism, Eurasia, Social Movement Theory

LYRICS: I have trembled And been alone In this restless world I'm in. Have been lookin' For a safe haven To call my own. But I have found No such place. So, I'm thinkin' of New Zealand. (pause) Like the Zed in the alphabet, New Zealand's my last hope. It's another dream to hold on to On the stormy ocean I'm on.
